An accountability court in Rawalpindi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in a case involving £190 million.
The hearing, led by Judge Nasir Javed Rana, resulted in the issuing of these warrants. Imran Khan also appeared before the court in this £190 million case.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had previously granted bail to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the National Crime Agency (NCA) settlement reference linked to the same amount.
A two-member bench of the IHC, including Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, reserved their verdict after hearing the arguments. The IHC later ordered Imran Khan’s release against a Rs1 million surety bond.

In related news, Bushra Bibi recently released a video urging PTI supporters to join the November 24 protest, which she described as a critical “final or do-or-die” stand against the government.
She asserted that attacks on their character escalated after they visited Madinah, Saudi Arabia. She claimed this included accusations of Khan being labelled a ‘Jewish agent.’
NCA Case Details:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has investigated Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others for allegedly misappropriating funds intended for Al Qadir University Trust, which purportedly led to a £190 million loss for the national treasury.
The charges suggest that the former prime minister and co-accused adjusted Rs50 billion, equivalent to £190 million, received from Britain’s National Crime Agency, leading to a corruption reference against them. The PTI chief established the Trust for the Al-Qadir University Project on December 26, 2019.
