A banking court has issued arrest warrants for Federal Information Minister Pervez Rashid for defaulting on loans worth millions of rupees.
Sources told that the minister had acquired loan of Rs 20.4 million from an agricultural bank in 1987 and he has not returned it as yet.
The court issued him various summons but the minister did not turn up. On Wednesday, the court issued arrest warrants for the minister. The orders were issued by the Judge Nazir Butt.
The court orders have been sent to SSP Lahore and SSP operations Islamabad, in which it is instructed that the minister be arrested and subsequently produced before the court.
