Azerbaijan Airlines completed the delivery of its A321neo on June 25, as AZAL received its first next-generation Airbus A321neo under its fleet modernisation plan.
The aircraft arrived from Hamburg, Germany, and expanded the carrier’s Airbus fleet. AZAL’s fleet now includes Airbus A319ceo, A320ceo, A320neo and A321neo aircraft.
The airline said the new aircraft would raise passenger capacity on high-demand routes. It also said the jet would support route-network expansion and strengthen AZAL’s position in the regional aviation market.
The Airbus A321neo has a cabin configured for up to 191 passengers. It includes Airbus’ Airspace cabin design, larger overhead bins, bigger windows, LED lighting and an intelligent cabin lighting system.
AZAL said the aircraft also carries a new-generation in-flight entertainment system and high-speed Wi-Fi. The airline said passengers would be able to use digital services during their journey.
The carrier said the A321neo offers operational and environmental benefits compared with previous-generation aircraft.

It consumes about 20% less fuel and produces about 20% lower carbon dioxide emissions per passenger, according to AZAL.
The aircraft has a range of up to 7,400 kilometres. The delivery followed AZAL’s recent addition of its fourth Airbus A320neo.
Azerbaijan Airlines said the delivery forms part of its long-term development strategy. The carrier aims to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft by 2032.
