Karachi, Sindh, police sources said 15 Anmol Pinky cases were registered in the South Zone, while courts have acquitted the alleged cocaine dealer in nine cases.
According to the sources, Anmol alias Pinky also faced nomination in several cases registered against riders allegedly involved in narcotics supply.
Police sources said the courts later cleared the riders, while Anmol Pinky also secured acquittals in those cases.
Sources alleged that a senior Karachi South district police officer had helped Anmol Pinky by ensuring weak case preparation in multiple matters.
They claimed poor case files and weak prosecution contributed to nine acquittals, while riders linked to the alleged supply network also obtained court releases.
South Zone police have started compiling records and case files to arrest Anmol Pinky in the remaining six cases, police sources said.
The development came as investigators examined alleged irregularities surrounding Anmol Pinky’s recent court appearance, including whether negligence or deliberate procedural lapses helped her secure legal relief in previous cases.
Police officials said DIG West Irfan Baloch led a nine-hour inquiry at the DIG West office into the alleged “Pinky appearance protocol” scandal.
Officials said the inquiry team recorded statements from SSP City Ali Hassan, the SHO Garden, the Station Investigation Officer and 10 officers and personnel, including three female constables.
Female police officer Manisha recorded the female constables’ statements, while police authorities said the inquiry team would review all statements before sending a report to the Additional IG Karachi on Saturday.
