The second round of talks between Pakistan’s Govt. and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) ended at Azadi – Chowk in Islamabad.
After the meeting PAT’s leader Raheeq Abbasi claimed that government is not taking his party’s demands seriously.
Talking to media after the meeting, Abbasi told media that the his party’s top demand is the registration of F.I.R of Model Town tragedy and arrests of those nominated in the F.I.R.
PAT leader confirmed that dialogue process will continue as long as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif are in power,there can be no credible investigation of the tragedy that took fourteen lives.
Member of Govt nominated committee, Ahsan Iqbal told media that the committee apprised PAT about Govt’s reservations and both parties have agreed to take the dialogue process forward.
He said the two sides were in consensus to sustain the talks. “We will meet again today,”
The Govt’s delegation included prominent political figures, Ahsan Iqbal, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Abdul Qadir Baloch.
PAT delegation included Raheeq Abbasi, Khurram Nawaz and Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza.
