Arnhem, Netherlands: Ye will perform two Netherlands concerts at GelreDome in Arnhem on June 6 and 8 after Dutch officials found no legal grounds to deny him entry, Reuters reported.
Dutch Migration Minister Bart van den Brink said authorities needed “solid grounds” to stop someone from entering the country. He said legal analyses had not found such grounds.
The concerts will mark Ye’s first European shows since 2014, according to GelreDome. The U.S. rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, has faced calls for bans over past antisemitic remarks and praise of Adolf Hitler and Nazi ideology.
Dutch lawmakers had urged the government to block Ye from entering the country before the Arnhem shows. Van den Brink said his past statements were not, at that point, grounds for denying him entry.
Reuters reported that the United Kingdom denied Ye entry in April, forcing the cancellation of his planned appearance at the Wireless Festival in London. Concerts in Marseille and Poland were also scrapped amid controversy.

The backlash widened after Ye released “Heil Hitler,” a song promoting Nazism. Earlier this year, he apologised in a full-page Wall Street Journal advertisement and attributed his behaviour to untreated bipolar disorder and an undiagnosed brain injury.
