The World Cup opening ceremony will be held in Mexico City on June 11 before Mexico faces South Africa, launching the 2026 FIFA World Cup across three host countries.
The tournament will feature 104 matches in 16 host cities and run until the final on July 19 in New York.
FIFA said Mexico, Canada and the United States will each stage an opening ceremony before their first match.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the ceremonies would reflect each country’s identity and the tournament’s unity.
The Mexico City show will start at 11:00 local time, with kickoff against South Africa set for 13:00. Shakira and Burna Boy are expected to perform “Dai Dai” in Mexico.

Toronto will host Canada’s ceremony on June 12 before Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina. Los Angeles will stage the U.S. ceremony on June 12 before the United States faces Paraguay.
