Hormuz blockade removed by the United States after talks with Iran, President Donald Trump said, citing what he called major concessions by Tehran.
Trump said there would be no further US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. He said Iran had agreed to allow international nuclear inspections.
Trump also said any released Iranian assets would be used only to buy US agricultural products.
Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said Tehran and Washington had reached an agreement to release $12 billion in frozen Iranian funds.
Oman and Iran said all arrangements linked to the Strait of Hormuz must respect their sovereign rights, according to the Oman news agency.
The two countries also renewed their commitment to keeping the Strait of Hormuz safe and open for international navigation.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the Iran-US war had triggered what he called the “mother of all energy shocks.”
He said developing countries faced energy, debt, food and development pressures from the conflict. The warning came as Washington and Tehran continued talks after the war launched by the United States and Israel on February 28.
In Lebanon, Israeli troops opened fire in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, killing two people and wounding others, according to the report. Hezbollah called the incident a truce violation against civilians.
