Actor Timothée Chalamet celebrated the New York Knicks’ NBA title win after the team ended a 53-year championship drought Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.
Chalamet marked the victory on Instagram Stories after the 2026 NBA Finals game at Frost Bank Centre. He shared a mock New York Post front page with “CHAMPS!” across the cover.
The fabricated newspaper image showed Knicks players celebrating the franchise’s first NBA title since 1973. Its subheadline said the Knicks had broken a 53-year drought.

He shouted into ESPN SportsCenter cameras that he would rather have the Knicks’ championship than an Oscar. The quote drew attention because Chalamet has received multiple Academy Award nominations. Chalamet is also the lead actor in “Marty Supreme.”
