Karachi, Sindh, will remain hot and dry as another Sindh heatwave is expected to begin on May 7, the Met Office said on Wednesday.
The weather office said Turbat, Balochistan, could record a maximum temperature of 45°C.
Mithi, Jacobabad and Nawabshah are expected to reach 44°C, according to the Met Office forecast. Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana are likely to record maximum temperatures of 42°C.
Karachi’s temperature has dropped slightly since Tuesday, but the port city is still expected to reach 38°C.
The Met Office said Karachi’s next spell of soaring temperatures would begin from May 13. The weather office ruled out rainfall in Karachi for May based on current weather calculations.
Officials advised citizens to avoid direct sunlight, especially during peak daytime hours, and to drink more water to stay hydrated.
Karachi recorded its hottest day of the summer on Monday when the maximum temperature rose above 40°C after the sea breeze was suspended.
Hot and dry north-westerly winds pushed the city into heatwave conditions, according to the weather report.
The extreme heat has persisted for two days and claimed 14 lives in Karachi, including eight deaths reported on Monday.
