Bill Cosby’s whereabouts have become central to efforts to enforce a $59.25 million civil judgment after Donna Motsinger’s lawyers said process servers could not locate the actor-comedian.

Filings in Donna Motsinger v. William Cosby Jr. said attempts to reach Cosby at properties linked to him in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania had failed.

A landscaper at the Massachusetts residence reportedly told a process server that Cosby no longer lived there. The filing described the entrance to his Elkins Park estate as chained, with no vehicles visible and the grounds appearing unattended.

Motsinger’s attorneys said locating Cosby was necessary to pursue financial disclosures and collect the judgment. The filings did not establish whether he was deliberately avoiding service or living elsewhere.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Bradley S. Phillips rejected Cosby’s request for a new trial in May. Phillips found that Cosby had not shown any irregularity that deprived him of a fair trial and that sufficient evidence supported the verdict, Complex reported.

A California civil jury found Cosby liable in March for drugging and sexually assaulting Motsinger in 1972. Jurors awarded her $17.5 million in past damages, $1.75 million in future damages and $40 million in punitive damages, according to the Associated Press.

Cosby denied Motsinger’s allegations. His lawyers argued that the damages were excessive and said he lacked sufficient liquid assets to pay the judgment.
