Rehman Malik, PPP Senator and former interior minister, said earlier today that all airports across the country are declared federal territory therefore putting all the blame on Sindh government for Karachi tragedy is not fair.
Talking to media here, Malik said that the federal government is responsible to ensure security at all airports in the country and as such Karachi airport attack was a failure of the federal government.
“Sindh government is being blamed unfairly,” he remarked.
Former interior minister said that spots from where terrorists entered the airport could have been easily secured, adding such an attack should be a source of concern for the government.
Malik demanded of the federal government to take immediate action against the terrorists. “Time has come to act against terrorism,” he asserted.
Sindh government has been under fire especially after authorities’ failure to rescue around eight people who were hold up at a cold storage following the attack on Sunday night. All the dead bodies were recovered on Tuesday morning; hours after authorities including the federal govt.-controlled Civil Aviation Authority declared that the airport is clear.
