TAXILA, Punjab: Police arrested two alleged shooters in the Shamsoo Bibi murder case and said investigators now believe the TikToker was killed by close relatives in an alleged honour killing.
Shamsoo Bibi, also known as Ayesha, was shot dead on August 14 while travelling in a car in Taxila. Her sister and brother were seriously injured in the attack.
Police said investigators identified the two suspects through CCTV footage and other technology. The footage showed two men on a motorcycle opening fire on the vehicle.
Investigators now allege that relatives held a jirga in Dir to plan the killing and assigned the attack to Shamsoo Bibi’s cousins. Police claimed more than 100 people attended the gathering.
According to investigators, Shamsoo Bibi’s father and brother were also present during the alleged planning.

The case was initially registered at Taxila Police Station on murder and attempted murder charges. Police said they have begun adding the relevant legal provision relating to honour killing.
The investigation initially focused on a possible financial dispute after Shamsoo Bibi’s father told police she had been killed over money.

The first information report named Kausar and Javed, alias Shaheen, in connection with that dispute and stated that Shamsoo Bibi had previously told her family she was receiving threats.
Police said the investigation remains underway and senior officers are expected to provide further details.
