Samsung’s One UI 7 beta, originally slated for release in August, has experienced significant delays this year. The company now targets a mid-November rollout for this beta version, based on Google’s Android 15. This beta program allows software developers and enthusiasts to test the upcoming software before its full release, slated for early 2025.
Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Samsung will need “another half month” to prepare the One UI 7 beta update for distribution. Known for reliable leaks about Samsung, Ice Universe’s insights suggest that the beta version should be available to users around mid-November.
Despite the delays, Samsung has announced plans to launch the beta by the end of the year, with the full version expected next year—likely alongside the anticipated Galaxy S25 series. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be the first to receive the One UI 7 update.
At the Samsung Developers Conference, the company did not provide detailed information about the new features of the Android 15-based One UI 7. However, online leaks have revealed some expected updates, including redesigned icons for system apps like the dialer, messages, gallery, calculator, and clock. Improvements in notification management, especially on the lock screen, are also anticipated.
Additional features expected in the One UI 7 update include new AI capabilities for the gallery app, allowing users to “restyle” their portrait images with artificial intelligence. The Sketch to Image feature, introduced in One UI 6.1.1, is expected to become available on more devices. Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy smartphones are set to support Google’s Homework Help feature, which was showcased earlier at Google I/O.
