The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has issued a show-cause notice to its leader from Karachi’s Lyari district, Nabil Gabol, due to his inappropriate comments during a recent YouTube interview.
Gabol faced backlash from the public, human rights activists, fellow party leaders and members after saying, “When rape is imminent, just enjoy it.”
PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro served the notice to Gabol, demanding an explanation for his offensive remarks within three days or risk disciplinary action.

The party’s spokesperson stressed that such language and non-parliamentary remarks have no place in the PPP’s policies.
PPP’s prompt response to Gabol’s comments reflects their commitment to upholding a progressive and inclusive political image.
Gabol’s remarks were widely criticized as misogynistic, and social media users were appalled by the offensive analogy. In addition, prominent party members, including Fatima Bhutto and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, condemned Gabol’s comments, with Bakhtawar stating that misogyny has no place in their religion or party.
