GREENVILLE, South Carolina: The Hayden Panettiere death investigation is examining what drugs may have contributed to her death and who supplied them.
Toxicology results remain pending, and authorities have not announced an official cause or manner of death. ABC News reported that investigators in South Carolina and Los Angeles are pursuing several leads.
Panettiere, known for “Heroes,” “Nashville”, and “Ice Princess,” died on August 16 at a residence in Greenville. First responders found her unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. They tried to revive her, but she died at the scene.
The Greenville City Police Department is leading the investigation. Meanwhile, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is assisting, according to ABC News.
The investigators may be examining street-level dealers who could have supplied Panettiere before her death. Authorities are also looking into possible links between the drugs involved and their suppliers.
