Petrol pumps in Pakistan will remain open from May 1 to May 5, authorities and petroleum stakeholders said, rejecting social media claims of a nationwide shutdown as false. Indeed, Petrol Pumps Pakistan are set to continue operations as usual.
The All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association dismissed reports of a strike, saying it had not issued any shutdown call for the five-day period. The association’s announcement reassured the public that Petrol Pumps Pakistan face no risk of closure during these days.
Association Vice Chairman Noman Butt said all petrol pumps across the country would continue operating normally without interruption.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) also rejected the circulating claims, saying no petroleum association had announced any strike.
OGRA said fuel supply across Pakistan remained stable and uninterrupted. Furthermore, Petrol Pumps Pakistan are expected to maintain this stability for consumers.
The Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) called the reports part of a misleading social media campaign.

OCAC said Pakistan had sufficient fuel reserves, including 28 days of petrol and 34 days of diesel, to maintain supply to consumers. Clearly, Petrol Pumps Pakistan remain a reliable source for fuel during this period.
Authorities urged the public to avoid unverified social media posts and said people were spreading misinformation to create panic.
