LONDON: The Pakistan Test squad has undergone seven changes for the third Test against England in Birmingham, with the Pakistan Cricket Board releasing seven players after the Lord’s Test.
Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad have been released, the PCB said on August 31.
The board named seven replacements, including five players who have yet to make their Test debuts.
Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal are the two replacements with previous Test experience. According to the PCB, Ayub has played eight Tests while Abdullah has appeared in two.
Left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Arafat Minhas has represented Pakistan in three One-Day Internationals and four Twenty20 Internationals but is yet to play Test cricket.
The other additions are left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Imran Jnr, wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig, pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Imran, also known as Imran Randhawa, and Razaullah.
Saad was named player of the tournament in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26, according to the PCB.
The seven incoming players will join the squad ahead of the Birmingham Test.

Pakistan have also made changes to their backroom staff. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul have been released, with Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke replacing them.
The updated squad is: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Abdullah Shafique, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali, Muhammad Imran, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Razaullah, Saad Baig, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood and Ubaid Shah.
