England Set Pakistan 389 to Win Second Test at Lord’s

LONDON: England set Pakistan a 389-run target after being bowled out for 208 in 54.2 overs on day four of the second Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Resuming at 177/7, England added 31 runs before losing their final three wickets. Dan Lawrence made 54 from 70 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes.

Mohammad Abbas led Pakistan’s attack with 5/57 from 22 overs. He completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Ollie Robinson for eight.

Josh Tongue added 12 before Babar Azam ran him out to end England’s innings. Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets each.

England had made 290 in their first innings, with Jamie Smith scoring 61 and Jordan Cox adding 55. Gus Atkinson made 45, while Tongue remained unbeaten on 30.

Pakistan were then bowled out for 110 in 37.2 overs, giving England a 180-run first-innings lead. Imam-ul-Haq was unable to bat because of injury.

Ollie Robinson claimed 4/11 for England, Jofra Archer took three wickets and Tongue picked up two. Azan Awais top-scored for Pakistan with 46, while Saud Shakeel made 16.

England reached 177/7 by stumps on day three before rain curtailed play after 24.5 overs, leaving the hosts with an overall lead of 357 runs.
