The federal government raised the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs6.51 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs19.39 per litre, effective May 1, 2026, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
After the increase, petrol will cost Rs399.86 per litre, up from Rs393.35, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs399.58 per litre.
The Petroleum Division notification said the revised prices will apply from May 1. The adjustment follows the government’s weekly fuel price review mechanism introduced after volatility linked to the now-paused US-Israel war on Iran.

Authorities also reduced the petroleum levy on petrol by Rs3.88 to Rs103.50 per litre. A Rs28.69 per litre levy was imposed on high-speed diesel, which previously carried no levy.
In the previous weekly review, the federal government raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices by Rs26.77 per litre each.
International oil prices rose earlier in the day amid concerns over renewed Middle East hostilities. Brent crude climbed more than 7% to $126 a barrel before easing to around $110 later in the session.
