ISTANBUL: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan agreed Sunday to convene the next Pakistan-Türkiye HLSCC session at an early date.
The two ministers reviewed progress under the Pakistan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), according to Pakistan’s official readout. They also welcomed stronger political, economic, security and cultural ties between the two countries.
Dar and Fidan also discussed regional and international developments. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to coordinate closely in support of regional peace and stability, the statement said.
Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed that the meeting took place at Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry office in Istanbul on August 30. Ankara initially released photographs of the talks without a detailed public readout.

Pakistan’s delegation included Special Secretary for United Nations affairs Nabeel Munir, Director General Umar Siddique, First Secretary Qazi Saleem and Agha Hunain, deputy director to the foreign minister.

Separately, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia will hold the first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee in Istanbul on August 31. The committee operates under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement signed by the three countries.
