Petrol Price Nigeria rose 23.69% year-on-year to ₦1,532.93 per litre in April 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
The NBS Premium Motor Spirit Price Watch report compared the figure with ₦1,239.33 in April 2025. Month-on-month, petrol prices rose 18.97% from ₦1,288.54 in March 2026.
Yobe recorded the highest average petrol price at ₦1,599.05 per litre. Edo followed at ₦1,595.74, while Bauchi posted ₦1,589.07.
Niger recorded the lowest average price at ₦1,403.89. Sokoto followed at ₦1,404.16, while Katsina posted ₦1,406.28.

At the zonal level, the South-south recorded the highest average petrol price at ₦1,566.76. The North West recorded the lowest at ₦1,508.81.
The NBS also said the average price for refilling a 5kg cooking gas cylinder rose 13.73% month-on-month to ₦8,706.93 in April 2026.
The 12.5kg cooking gas refill price rose 13.89% month-on-month to ₦22,382.20, according to the LPG Price Watch report.
