WASHINGTON, United States: The Trump midterm strategy would put President Donald Trump at the centre of Republican campaigns, backed by a reported USD 400 million MAGA Inc. war chest.
The Atlantic reported that Trump outlined the approach during an Oval Office meeting earlier in August. The plan includes television advertisements promoting what Trump considers his second-term achievements.
The proposed messages would highlight the economy, falling fentanyl deaths and immigration enforcement. Trump also asked advisers to review video clips in which he discussed his administration’s record, according to The Atlantic.
However, some Republican strategists questioned whether campaigns should focus so heavily on Trump. They were concerned about his approval ratings and voter dissatisfaction on issues including the economy.
Trump publicly reinforced the approach during a campaign rally for South Carolina Senator Darline Graham. He urged supporters to vote in November as if his own name appeared on the ballot.

Former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel told The Atlantic that economic messaging could struggle if voters did not feel improvement in their household finances.
White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales defended the approach, saying the administration had a strong record to present to voters.
