The federal government kept petrol and diesel prices unchanged on Friday, while reducing kerosene oil by Rs6.85 per litre after its weekly fuel price review.
Petrol will remain at Rs299.50 per litre. High-speed diesel will stay at Rs311.47 per litre, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority said kerosene oil was reduced from Rs 233.90 to Rs 227.05 per litre. The new rate reflects a cut of Rs6.85 per litre.
The petroleum levy on high-speed diesel was increased by Rs6.57 per litre. It rose from Rs 72.97 to Rs 79.54 per litre, according to Petroleum Division sources.
The petrol levy also rose by 39 paisa per litre. It increased from Rs 66.25 to Rs 66.64 per litre. The petroleum levy on kerosene oil remained unchanged at Rs 20.36 per litre.

The latest decision followed last week’s sharp fuel price cut. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced a Rs74 per litre reduction in petrol and a Rs67 per litre cut in diesel.
The federal government had also reduced kerosene by Rs48.29 per litre last week. That cut brought the rate down from Rs 282.19 to Rs 233.90 per litre.
Officials linked the earlier relief to lower international crude prices and easing Middle East tensions after the US-Iran peace agreement. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz also helped reduce concerns about oil supply.
Petrol is mainly used by commuters in cars, motorcycles and rickshaws. Diesel affects transport, agriculture and goods movement because trucks, buses, trains, tractors and tube wells rely heavily on it.
