Air Marshal Sohail Aman was appointed as the new chief of air staff earlier today.
Air Marshal Sohail Aman has replaced Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt who officialy retired as of today.
His appointment was recommended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and approved by President Mamnoon Hussain.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt paid a visit to Joint Staff Headquarters to bid farewell to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood.
“The CJCSC appreciated the services rendered by chief of air staff, especially his efforts in transforming Pakistan Air Force into a vibrant and more potent force and cementing inter-services cooperation which is being amply displayed during the ongoing operations,” the ISPR said in a statement.
