US President Donald Trump said Sunday that negotiators should not rush a Middle East deal with Iran, despite progress toward ending the regional war.
Trump said the US would keep its blockade of Iranian ports in place until both sides reached, certified and signed an agreement.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency said key clauses remained unresolved, including those related to frozen Iranian assets. Iranian officials said the sides would delay nuclear talks for 60 days after any deal.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told The New York Times that regional support existed, but negotiators could not reach a nuclear agreement quickly.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said any final deal must remove Iran’s nuclear threat entirely.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Islamabad hoped to host another round of US-Iran talks “very soon” after joining a regional call with Trump.
