MANSEHRA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Alex Mark Harris, an Irish-British mountaineer who went missing while descending Musa Ka Musalla, was found dead in a deep ravine, Mansehra Police said.
Harris, 30, disappeared on August 29 after losing his way while returning from the mountain in the Siran Valley. His companion, UK national Cledwyn Alun David Cooper, reported him missing to Nawaz Abad Police Station the following day.
Police and Rescue 1122 launched a search operation involving around 200 personnel and volunteers. Drones and other available resources were also deployed in the mountainous terrain.
Police said Harris and Cooper had taken separate routes while descending and planned to meet in Munda Gucha. Cooper reached the town, but Harris did not.

The police report said Harris and Cooper had travelled from Islamabad without prior intimation and that their visit was not recorded on the Foreign Nationals Security Dashboard.

Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Harris had been living in Pakistan and worked for a British aid and development consultancy in Islamabad.
