Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced the reinstatement of green meters for solar systems.

The company recently issued a notification permitting the temporary installation of bi-directional green meters until October 15. Consumers interested in these solar system meters can now obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from LESCO.

Previously, LESCO mandated the installation of AMI meters starting July 1, 2024, which led to a notable increase in prices. However, due to supply constraints and a lack of available stock from meter manufacturing companies, LESCO has now reversed this decision and lifted the ban on green meters to accommodate consumer needs.
