For Apple enthusiasts, recently leaked images provide a tantalizing glimpse into the future of the iPhone 16 series. These leaks reveal critical details about the upcoming devices, including changes in display sizes and camera alignments. The iPhone 16 Pro is rumoured to feature a stunning 6.3-inch display.
According to a recent image leak, the Pro models, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are expected to feature larger displays. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumoured to have a new camera alignment, departing from Apple’s consistent design approach over the past three years.
Sonny Dickson, a tipster, revealed these details on X, showcasing potential new sizes and design elements. The iPhone 16 Pro could upgrade to a 6.3-inch display from the previous 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max might expand to a 6.9-inch screen from 6.7 inches. The base model, the iPhone 16, will likely maintain its 6.1-inch display, and the iPhone 16 Plus will continue with its predecessor’s 6.7-inch screen.
While the increased display sizes could appeal to many, they may disappoint fans of smaller phones. Additionally, the leaked images suggest a shift in camera module alignment for the non-Pro models—from a diagonal to a vertical setup, akin to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. A unique aspect of the new design is the placement of the LED flash outside the camera module.
This vertical camera alignment could enhance spatial video recording capabilities in the non-Pro models. Other rumoured updates include capacitive buttons replacing traditional physical buttons. This change, initially expected in the iPhone 15 series, was postponed. Previously exclusive to Pro models, the Action button might also be included across the iPhone 16 lineup.
