Karachi, Sindh, recorded a 10.5% rise in KWSC collections, with the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation collecting Rs8.14 billion through monthly bills in the first four months of 2026.
The corporation said the amount was Rs 70.75 million higher than collections during the same period last year.
KWSC said its overall collection for the first 10 months of the 2025-26 financial year rose by 29%. Average monthly collections have now crossed Rs2.26 billion, according to the corporation.
KWSC attributed the increase to administrative reforms, improved recovery systems, tariff adjustments and stronger collection of long-standing arrears.
A spokesperson said the corporation would continue efforts to increase revenue and maintain long-term financial stability.
The revenue update follows KWSC’s launch of a citywide bulk flow metering system to modernise Karachi’s water supply network.
Officials said the system is being implemented under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project with support from the Sindh government and financial assistance from the World Bank.
The project includes about 100 monitoring chambers and ultrasonic flow meters to track water supply in real time.
During the pilot phase, meters are being installed at 43 strategic locations, including Ajmer Pump House, Nagan Chowrangi, Hub Reservoir and Gharo Pumping Station.
