Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump’s reported link to King Charles III on Tuesday, comparing the claim to the 1991 comedy “King Ralph.” Kimmel made the joke a day after Trump called for ABC and Disney to fire him over a remark about First Lady Melania Trump.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Kimmel used the royal visit segment to target Trump’s welcome for Charles and Queen Camilla.
“You know, this idea that Trump might be the king’s distant cousin is exactly the plot of King Ralph,” Kimmel said. The John Goodman film follows an American who becomes king after officials identify him as the closest surviving royal relative.
Kimmel also mocked a flag error during preparations for the royal visit, saying officials had mistakenly displayed Australian flags instead of the Union Jack in Washington. He called it a “literal false flag operation.”
The exchange followed criticism from Trump and Melania Trump over Kimmel’s earlier “expectant widow” joke. Melania Trump urged ABC to “take a stand,” while Trump called Kimmel’s comment a “despicable call to violence,” according to CNN-linked coverage.

Kimmel defended the remark as a joke about the age gap between Trump and Melania Trump. On Tuesday, he also referred to Trump’s own comment that he and Melania would not match his parents’ 63-year marriage, joking that Trump “should be fired for that.”
People reported that Trump made the anniversary remark during the White House welcome for King Charles and Queen Camilla on April 28.
