United States President Donald Trump called on Disney and ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel after the late-night host joked about First Lady Melania Trump before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting incident.
Kimmel made the remark last Thursday while hosting a mock White House Correspondents’ Dinner segment on his show. Addressing Melania Trump, Kimmel said she had “a glow like an expectant widow.”
The joke drew renewed attention after the shooting incident and became a political and media controversy.
Melania Trump criticised Kimmel first, calling the remark a sign of “political sickness.”
