Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a paperless Islamabad driving license system, allowing citizens to apply with only their computerised national identity cards.
Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi inaugurated the digital licensing system and reviewed the newly established counters. Rizvi said the initiative aims to facilitate citizens and reduce delays in the licensing process.
He said applicants previously had to provide multiple documents, including medical forms and photographs.
Under the new system, citizens no longer need documents, photocopies or photographs for the licensing process. Rizvi said the Islamabad Traffic Police has digitised the process from medical assessment to license issuance.
He added that the department will also digitise the licensing fee system in the near future. The development comes after the Sindh government made pre-license driving training mandatory for license applicants earlier this year.
