During the hearing, the court suspended the warrant following assurances from Gandapur’s lawyer.
Simultaneously, with Justice Arshad Ali and Justice Shahid Khan presiding, the Peshawar High Court granted Gandapur transitory bail and instructed him to appear in the relevant courts.
The bail plea was filed earlier today, in which the Chief Minister sought permission from the High Court for transitory bail to attend court for this particular case.
A day before, Civil Judge Shaista Khan Kundi had directed the Barakahu station house officer to arrest Gandapur, noting his failure to appear in court despite three calls that morning.
Gandapur’s attorney, Raja Zahoorul Hasan, announced plans to submit a medical report detailing the Chief Minister’s illness. Additionally, Hasan’s assistant, Fatahullah Burki, mentioned that flood conditions prevented Gandapur from attending court.
In response to these events, the Barakahu police acted on the court’s directive to ensure immediate compliance with the arrest warrant.
Islamabad police provided a copy of the warrant to Gandapur’s legal team and notified CM House.
This petition followed Gandapur’s appeal in a sessions court in Islamabad against the judicial magistrate’s order from the previous day.
The petition argued that an acquittal plea for the Chief Minister was pending, claiming the magistrate’s orders were unlawful.
Gandapur requested the court to invalidate the arrest warrant and reconsider their decision.
