ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday restrained police from arresting or harassing PTI leaders who approached the court over alleged raids ahead of the party’s September 27 protest.
Justice Raja Inaam Amin Minhas also summoned Islamabad’s SSP Operations to appear personally after hearing petitions involving Malik Amir Ali and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) figures.
Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, appearing with lawyer Riasat Azad, alleged that police had begun raids at party workers’ homes before the planned march. He claimed family members were being harassed and valuables and cash had been taken during some raids.
Shaheen told the court that the petitioners would submit affidavits and CCTV footage in support of their allegations. The court has not yet adjudicated the claims, and the available material does not show a police response.

PTI has announced nationwide demonstrations and a march towards Islamabad on September 27, saying the mobilisation seeks the release of party founder Imran Khan and what it calls the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law.
The relief comes two days after a separate IHC bench disposed of a petition concerning the September 27 march, ruling that political parties have no lawful right to block roads, highways or access to hospitals and educational institutions.
