Mays Al-JABAL, Lebanon: Hezbollah cameras found by Israeli troops in southern Lebanon showed armed fighters, children dressed as fighters and views of Israeli border communities, Ynet reported.
The material came from an operation by the Israel Defence Forces’ Yahalom combat engineering unit and paratroopers in Mays al-Jabal. The report said troops also found weapons and tunnel shafts in populated areas.
A Yahalom bomb disposal soldier told Ynet that troops found photography equipment, cameras and images of armed Hezbollah members sitting in meetings. Some images also showed fighters posing with weapons.
Other photos showed the Israeli border fence, military vehicle routes and homes in Manara, the soldier said. He added that commanders received the material because it had intelligence value.
Troops also found weapons in residential yards, according to the soldier. In one yard facing Misgav Am, they found Kornet anti-tank missile launchers without missiles.
Ynet said the recovered footage and photos showed weapons inside homes and religious sites. Meanwhile, the report said tunnel shafts appeared in populated parts of southern Lebanon.
The soldier said Hezbollah has used fibre-optic suicide drones that can carry explosives up to 15 kilometres. Because they use a physical cable, he said, Israeli forces cannot jam them in the usual way.
He also described crude explosive triggers using thin wires that resemble fishing line. As a result, troops continue to face complex explosive setups during clearance work.
Despite the ceasefire, the soldier said fighting has not stopped. He said IDF activity now includes fewer deep missions and more demolition raids along the border line.

The Hezbollah camera discovery adds to Israeli claims that Hezbollah placed military assets inside civilian areas. However, there is no response from Hezbollah.
