Gilgit-Baltistan elections will be held on Sunday across 24 Legislative Assembly constituencies, with 403 candidates contesting, the Election Commission said.
Voting will take place in 10 districts across the region’s three divisions. Election Commission data showed 272 independent candidates and 131 candidates from political parties are taking part.
Authorities said all administrative arrangements had been completed. A total of 1,389 polling stations have been set up across Gilgit-Baltistan for voters.
The Election Commission’s media coordinator said polling staff had been deployed, including 1,389 presiding officers, 2,450 assistant presiding officers and 2,450 polling officers.

Gilgit-Baltistan Police said political activity had reached its peak, while the overall law-and-order situation remained satisfactory and under control. Police said 614 political activities had taken place peacefully since May 1.
Police officials said the campaign included 62 major public gatherings, 217 public meetings and inauguration ceremonies, 243 political offices and 92 rallies.
Gilgit-Baltistan Police urged citizens to follow the election code of conduct, avoid rumours and refrain from provocative statements or negative propaganda. Residents were advised to contact police helpline 15 in case of emergency
