MOSCOW, Russia: A US military plane landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday, August 25, after flying directly from Riga, Latvia, Flightradar24 data showed.
The Boeing Globemaster, carrying US registration number 07-7181, landed at about 10:00 a.m. Moscow time.
Flight-tracking data showed the aircraft had reached Riga on August 23 after departing from Camp Springs near Washington, D.C. However, the aircraft’s passengers, cargo, or purpose is not clear.
The flight drew attention because direct US-registered flights from Europe to Russia have been rare; the previous such flight occurred in January.

That aircraft carried US envoys Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin over Ukraine.

However, the Kremlin said last week that it had no information about another planned Moscow visit by Kushner and Witkoff. US-Russia discussions over Ukraine have also slowed.
