Mexico City, Mexico: FIFA announced three distinct opening ceremonies for the 2026 World Cup, with the tournament kicking off June 11 in Mexico City, where Maná will headline the event at Estadio Azteca.
The Mexico ceremony will feature Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, J Balvin, Los Ángeles Azules and Tyla and will highlight Indigenous and modern folkloric performances, according to FIFA’s official X post.
Canada will open on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto, featuring performances by Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, William Prince, and DJ Sanjoy. The ceremony will showcase a “mosaic-inspired” reimagining of the World Cup Trophy to reflect Canada’s diversity.
The U.S. ceremony takes place on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Headlined by Katy Perry, the event will also feature Future, LISA from BLACKPINK, Anitta, Rema, Tyla, and DJ Sanjoy. FIFA described it as a high-energy spectacle reflecting the scale and cultural impact of the tournament.
Each ceremony will last 13–17 minutes and begin roughly 90 minutes before the host nation’s first match. Mexico faces South Africa, Canada plays Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the U.S. competes against Paraguay.

Additional ceremonies on July 4 in Houston and Philadelphia will commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence. Shakira’s “Dai Dai” is the official 2026 tournament song. Broadcast options in the U.S. include Fox, Fox Sports App, Fubo, Peacock, and Telemundo.
