The Pakistan Army’s Army Rocket Force Command successfully conducted a training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system on Tuesday, Inter-Services Public Relations said.
ISPR said the launch aimed to train troops, validate technical parameters and evaluate subsystems designed to improve the missile’s accuracy and survivability. The military’s media wing said the Fateh-II system had advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation aids.
Senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Rocket Force Command and the Pakistan Army witnessed the launch, along with scientists and engineers from strategic organisations, according to ISPR.
The forum commended the successful training fire of the indigenously developed Fateh-series missile, the statement said.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and services chiefs praised the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of the team involved, ISPR said.
