Four Paws, a leading global animal welfare organization, has announced plans to relocate an African elephant named Madhubala to Karachi’s Safari Park. The organization’s elephant experts will visit Karachi as preparations at the Safari Park near completion.
Four Paws highlighted this project as a key milestone in creating a safe, species-appropriate environment for Madhubala. She will join her sisters, Malika and Sonia, enhancing her social interactions and well-being.
The organization is finalizing the Safari Park’s elephant enclosure, focusing on landscaping, enrichment features, and ongoing training for the three elephants.
It is crucial to note that since 2023, Madhubala has been held in solitary confinement at the Karachi Zoo, where she has suffered from mental stress due to isolation.
Following Noor Jehan’s death, the city administration promptly initiated plans to move Madhubala to the Safari Park to safeguard her health.
Four Paws thanked Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Mayor Murtaza Wahab for his cooperation.
The organization’s statement concluded that the joint efforts aim to ensure Madhubala’s smooth transition and joyful reunion with her family at the Safari Park.
