Marc Cucurella’s tattoo pledge will take effect if Spain beats defending champions Argentina in Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey.
The Real Madrid left-back told El Partidazo de COPE that he would tattoo Spain coach Luis de la Fuente’s face on his body if the team lifted the trophy.
Cucurella said the tattoo would be small, although he had not decided where to place it. He described the gesture as a tribute to De la Fuente for supporting him and continuing to select him.
The 27-year-old previously promised to dye his curly hair red if Spain won UEFA Euro 2024. He fulfilled that promise after Spain secured the European title.
Spain reached the final with a 2-0 victory over France. Argentina recovered from a goal down to beat England 2-1, with Lautaro Martínez scoring the stoppage-time winner. FIFA confirmed both semifinal results.
