Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has ruled out another national-team comeback before the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, saying his previous “Pakistan chapter” is now closed.

Amir, 34, said he has acquired British citizenship and now competes as a local player in English domestic cricket. He recently joined Nottinghamshire under his UK passport for the 2026 T20 Blast.

Speaking to cricket journalist and YouTuber Muhammad Furqan Bhatti, Amir explained that local-player status in competitions such as the County Championship.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had already confirmed his international retirement on December 14, 2024, after his final Pakistan appearances at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
