RAWALPINDI, Punjab: The Hina Javed murder case has been declared high-profile by the Punjab Prosecution Department, which formed a special committee of senior prosecutors to monitor the investigation and prosecution.
Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar directed District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim to ensure effective prosecution of the case registered at Civil Lines Police Station.
Rahim subsequently held a meeting with SP Pothohar Asar Ali, DSP Muhammad Shakeel and Civil Lines Police Station SHO Asif Sajjad to review progress in the investigation and prosecution.
Deputy District Public Prosecutor, Rawalpindi, Rehman Shaukat Bhatti, also attended the meeting.
The district prosecutor reviewed the available case record, the investigation’s progress, and the evidence, according to the Punjab Prosecution Department.

Investigating officers were directed to make the investigation more comprehensive and evidence-based. Prosecutors also issued a line of inquiry covering different possible aspects of the case to avoid overlooking evidence or investigative angles.
The special committee formed at the prosecutor general’s direction will continue to review progress in the case and provide legal assistance to the investigation team.
The department said the arrangement was intended to strengthen coordination between investigators and prosecutors as proceedings continue.
