RAWALPINDI, Punjab: The Hina Javed post-mortem found a fractured neck bone and injuries to her ribs and hip, while the cause of death remained undetermined pending forensic tests.
The post-mortem report also recorded blood in the pericardium and heart. The examination was conducted by Dr Maria Khalid about 12 hours after Javed’s death.
Javed’s body was found in a bathroom at her home in Lalkurti, Rawalpindi, within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station. Police are investigating the case as a murder and have arrested her husband, Faisal Asghar, and a domestic employee, Zeeshan.
DNA and other samples collected during the post-mortem were sent to laboratories for forensic examination to establish the cause of death. The post-mortem itself did not reach a definitive conclusion on how she died.
A Rawalpindi duty magistrate on Sunday granted the police three days’ physical remand of Asghar and Zeeshan. Investigators told the court that a rope and wire allegedly connected with the killing had been recovered.
The murder case was registered at Civil Lines Police Station under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, according to court reporting. Police have also included Asghar’s father in the investigation and recorded his statement.

Rawalpindi police have constituted a seven-member investigation team, headed by Investigation SSP Saif Ullah, to probe the case, according to separate reports on the investigation.
