Cellular network operators will not issue any mobile phone connection without NADRA biometric verification

Today an accord was singed between NADRA and the cellular network companies. Under this new agreement every  new and existing subscriber will have to go through NADRA biometric verification process to acquire a mobile new SIM.

Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan oversaw the signing ceremony.

Before the signing ceremony, Chairman NADRA, Imtiaz Tajwar briefed  interior minister on biometric SIM contract. Chairman PTA Dr. Syed Ismail Shah was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Chadhry Nisar said “The biometric verification of SIMs will provide excellent technical support to security agencies.”
