Actor Olivia Wilde appears in the first trailer for Gregg Araki’s “I Want Your Sex.” The film is a sex comedy thriller co-starring Cooper Hoffman.
The film follows an artist, played by Wilde, who begins a sadomasochistic relationship with her assistant, played by Hoffman. The cast also includes Charli xcx, Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders and Daveed Diggs.
“I Want Your Sex” drew attention at Sundance. Eventually, Magnolia Pictures acquired its US distribution rights for seven figures after a bidding war.
Variety critic Peter Debruge described the film as an unconventional rom-com that extends Araki’s sex-positive indie sensibility.
Wilde told Variety at the Sundance premiere that the film uses sex as a metaphor for broader personal experience.

Araki is known for his 1990s Teen Apocalypse Trilogy, including “Totally F***ed Up,” “The Doom Generation”, and “Nowhere.”
“I Want Your Sex” marks Araki’s return to feature filmmaking. Previously, he directed television episodes of “Riverdale,” “13 Reasons Why,” “Monster”, and “American Gigolo.”
