RAWALPINDI: Balochistan attacks martyred 38 security personnel and four civilians, while security forces killed 54 terrorists, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Wednesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations director general said three major terrorist incidents took place in the province over the past four days. He said terrorists attacked the local population in Hanna Urak on July 4 and July 5.
Lt Gen Chaudhry said the Hanna Urak attack killed four civilians and injured six others. He said local residents fought back, forcing the attackers to flee.
The DG ISPR said terrorists also launched a multidirectional attack on a police checkpost near Pumping Station No. 3 of Mangi Dam in Ziarat district.
He said the initial Ziarat attack killed nine police officers, including two station house officers. Security forces killed 15 terrorists in the first clearance operation, he said.

Lt Gen Chaudhry said terrorists later took police personnel hostage in the mountains of Ziarat. He said the army, Frontier Corps and law enforcement reinforcements moved into the area.
Security forces avoided aerial fire to protect the hostages, he said. Lt Gen Chaudhry said terrorists later killed 18 more police officers during the Ziarat engagement.

He said the Ziarat operation killed 26 terrorists so far. The DG ISPR said an attack near Bela and Winder killed 11 soldiers, including one junior commissioned officer and 10 soldiers.
He said security forces killed 14 Baloch Liberation Army terrorists in that engagement. Lt Gen Chaudhry said security forces also killed six terrorists in Kharan and eight in Dalbandin.
He said operations continued at multiple locations and vowed that forces would bring all terrorists to their “logical end.”
