Police claimed to have arrested over 250 suspects following firing on a passenger jet which killed a woman and left two crew members injured in Peshawar late night on Tuesday.
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK-756, landing on Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, came under fire late night as it descended with more than 170 passengers on board.
An initial report prepared by police and security agencies said shots were fired from a school in Badabir area close to the airport. The terrorists fired 60 rounds but only 10 hit the plane.
Sources said FIR of the incident has been registered against unknown persons under sections of anti-terrorism act.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
