Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) earlier today, cancelled senior leader and former home minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza’s membership of the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC). The action was carried out after Mirza issued statements against the party’s leadership. Mirza was a senior member of the CEC.
The decision to revoke Zulfiqar Mirza’s membership was made at the Bilawal House during a meeting of party’s key leaders. Mirza had previously stated that a conflict exists between the party s chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his father Asif Ali Zardari. Zulfiqar Mirza has stated that he only considers Bilawal as his leader.
Apart from a vague tweet regarding unity amongst the central leadership of the party. Bilawal, himself has been conspicuously silent.
